Warriors will be “good partners” if asked to resume the season

Bob Myers has said that the Golden State Warriors plans to be “good partners” if the NBA resumes the 19-20 regular season and that teams without any mathematical chance to participate in the playoffs are called back to play.

Steve Kerr made controversial comments on April 28 stating that the Warriors were operating as if their season had already ended despite 17 games remaining.

“It looks like the offseason,” said Kerr, referring to a Zoom call he and Myers had made with the players. “… It was just a chance to register, but it was also an opportunity for Bob to update the players on his contact with the league and the latest news, but it also looked like our annual release meeting of the team. Our coaching staff has undergone staff assessments, offseason plans, so we are absolutely in offseason mode right now. ”

ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reports that these comments particularly moved the playoff teams.

“The truth is that we have the worst record in the league. It’s a fact, “said Myers. “It is difficult to justify our unique position. But that doesn’t mean the players aren’t proud and won’t come back to play and care about the league as a whole. We want to be good partners and we will be good partners.

“We would like to see Steph [Curry] play with [Andrew] Wiggins; I think we could have seen this for a match where we hoped to see that. ”
