Type 2 diabetes: include broccoli in your diet to prevent symptoms


As the NHS explains, there is nothing you cannot eat if you have type 2 diabetes, but there are certain foods you will need to limit.

The main culprits to reduce are starchy foods, such as bread, pasta, rice, couscous, potatoes, breakfast cereals.

The reason is that starchy foods have a high carbohydrate content.

Carbohydrates break down into glucose fairly quickly and therefore have a more pronounced effect on blood sugar than fats or proteins.
