Twitter will allow employees to work from home for as long as they want, according to NBC News.
Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey told his staff on Tuesday that many of them would be allowed to work from home in perpetuity, even after the coronavirus pandemic ended, a Twitter spokesperson said.
In an email, first obtained from BuzzFeed News, Dorsey said it is unlikely that Twitter will open before September and that all in-person events will be canceled for the rest of the year.
Twitter’s new policy comes as businesses across the country struggle to adapt to social distancing guidelines and rethink how they operate in a post-pandemic world.
