Two teenagers are in hospital after a shooting in Thorncliffe Park on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency personnel were called to a park near Thorncliffe Park Drive and Overlea Boulevard at approximately 5:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired.
Insp. Toronto Police Service Stacey Davis said the police located two male victims, who were in their mid to late teens.
The two victims were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“It happened in the park here between the two schools,” said Davis. “Then the victims run away. It’s a bit of a moving scene. “
She said that someone had been arrested in connection with the gun found at the scene. However, Davis said it is not known if this is related to the shooting.
Investigators believe there are two shooters, said Davis.
“There are callers who indicate that two men were shooting at each other. Now, whether it’s the two victims or whether the victims were caught in the crossfire, that’s what we need from the video, and we need the audience to introduce themselves and let us know. ” she declared.
Davis said they had obtained a video of the whereabouts of the victims, but they would like to see the school video to get a clearer picture of what happened.
She said that no one is in detention yet.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or Crime Stoppers.
