The Tesla Cybertruck and Roadster conundrum: which should come first?

Joe Rogan was kind enough to invite Elon Musk to his downtown Los Angeles studio to brainstorm. Many of us, including myself, have refreshed Joe Rogan’s YouTube channel page while waiting for the UFC commentator and comedian to download the interview. I watched it twice on the day of the podcast release. And while I expected to hear about Tesla’s plan for the new US-based Gigafactory or perhaps Tesla’s Plaid mode, and even the Cybertruck, I was helpless to wait any longer. Until there were eight minutes left in the episode and I realized that production of the Roadster was going to be delayed further, but for good reason.

Musk admitted that the Roadster was truly a kind of luxury for all of us. It’s a super cool car, but this cool factor will also cost you over $ 200,000.

However, we all want to see the car itself, what it can do and whether SpaceX will have anything to do with it. These are all reasons why I am in conflict, and I don’t know which one I would prefer to see first. But, there are certainly reasons for both. I plan to explain to you why each has its own advantages in being published before the others on Tesla fans. So stay, I think you will find the reasons convincing.

When you’re done reading, send me an email or tweet me and tell me which of the two you prefer to see first between the Roadster and the Cybertruck. I would add that I really haven’t made a decision on which I think I should go out first. Maybe writing it down will help me draw a conclusion so that I can have a decision by the end of the newsletter.

First I’ll talk about the benefits of Cybertruck.

It’s a pickup truck and America loves them. China too. But beyond that, microphones are popular because they are versatile. More often than not, they have acceptable performance, decent fuel consumption (sometimes); they are affordable when it comes to models like the Ford Ranger, and a lot of people in the United States use them for sure. In my home state of Pennsylvania, a lot of trucks are running. Lots of my friends have them, and heck, I even wanted one for my first car in high school. (I got a 1998 Volkswagen Jetta K2 in silver if you are interested). But the car has three variants and is affordable for a multitude of income groups. It could, and in my opinion, become one of Tesla’s best performing vehicles.

I know the truck will work well in the United States not only because some people will buy it for the massive towing capacity and impressive range, but some will want to have a car that is unlike any other car on the road. It will be instantly recognizable, and when people can wrap it in the color or pattern of their choice, it will become the most customizable car ever.

Then Cybertruck is definitely the vehicle that will make Tesla more money. It is more affordable and its average cost is $ 53,000 between the three configurations. It sort of goes with the last point, because it’s a consumer vehicle, unlike the Roadster. But nonetheless, Tesla would likely see a significantly higher benefit from the Cybertruck than from the Roadster.

Then people, in my personal opinion, are more interested in Cybertruck. I’m not saying that I’m more interested in the Cybertruck or the Roadster. But I think more people are willing to know more about a car than they could ever put in their garage than a vehicle that, most likely, will only fit into the garages of the privileged few. I love the Roadster, don’t get me wrong. I am realistic when I say that I don’t think I ever will. If I were to bet on it, I would bet at least 50: 1 that I would own a Cybertruck before a Roadster.

Most people don’t need a Roadster. Most people will not spend $ 200,000 on a car. Most people don’t need a vehicle that needs to go from 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds. It’s cool, but would you use it as a daily driver on the Cybertruck? Probably not. The Cybertruck is undoubtedly more recognizable.

Okay, the Roadster also has its advantages. I will review them now.

Let’s be honest; we all want to see the Roadster. It was unveiled in 2017, and we are all waiting. We all want to see what he can do. We all want to see its final design. We all want to see how fast the final configuration of the car really is.

Tesla says 1.9 seconds from 0 to 60 MPH, and I don’t think anyone will be surprised if it reaches that speed. I think so, and I personally want to see what a fast car will do against the Roadster. There are a multitude of different drag races to be run, and I personally think the Roadster will beat them all. The fact is, it will be the most impressive vehicle ever made. It will be the center of attention whether you like petrol cars or electric cars.

One of the main reasons is timing for me. It was unveiled three years ago, and for some people, the car is called the “2020 Tesla Roadster”. Why should it not be like this?

We’ve all been waiting for three years for this to be done and see what the Roadster can do. Why not do it and let us know what it can do, and let the owners who pre-order the vehicle drive it. It is long overdue. I realize that a lot of people want to see it and how it will perform, and I am one of them.

There are certainly reasons for both. They both have really important advantages in being released first.

Personally, I want the Roadster to start production first, but I also plan to order a Cybertruck. So I am certainly in conflict. But if I had to pick one right now, I hope the Roadster is out just because I want to see its performance. I want the Roadster to be the fastest car in the world.

I can be patient with Cybertruck if it means Roadster production is coming sooner.
