Nine cases of virus have been confirmed in the small village of Eglise-Neuve-de-Vergt (Nouvelle-Aquitaine), making it the 29th “cluster” of cases throughout the department.
The new infections came after the funeral of a person “in his fifties”, whose death “had nothing to do” with the virus, said Michel Laforcade, director of local health authorities. Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Health Agency (ARS) at a press conference.
