Stores began reopening in Paris on Monday after France eased its two-month lockdown.

Stores have implemented hygiene measures, with staff wearing face masks and providing hand sanitizers to customers upon arrival.

Despite this, there were relatively few people on the streets or in shops or cafes.

More than 26,000 people have died of the virus in France since the beginning of March.

The new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms for most people. For some, especially the elderly and people with existing health problems, it can cause more serious illness and death.
