President Donald Trump revealed on Friday that the last member of the White House staff to test positive for the coronavirus is press secretary Pence Katie Miller, wife of Trump adviser Stephen Miller. She tested negative on Thursday, a day before her positive result. (May 8)
At least 11 US secret service workers are believed to have been infected with the coronavirus and about 60 other staff members were under quarantine, a person familiar with the matter said on Friday.
The person who is not authorized to comment publicly has refused to break down the number of infections between civilians and officers. The locations of sick employees have also not been identified.
The service, which provides personal protection for the president, the vice-president and their families, as well as visiting heads of state, has 7,600 employees, including more than 3,000 agents who work near those they protect.
The development, unveiled for the first time by Yahoo News, comes as the pandemic is approaching the inner circle of the White House.
The revelations come after two White House workers tested positive for the virus this week.

A member of Vice President Mike Pence’s staff, press secretary Katie Miller, tested positive for coronavirus just as Pence was about to travel to Iowa on Friday to promote reopening efforts. the economy, delaying takeoff by an hour.
The White House said on Thursday that President Donald Trump’s military valet had also tested positive for the virus.
Developments involving the valet and Pence staff prompted the White House to put in place additional protective measures.
Trump has said that White House aides will be tested daily for the virus rather than weekly. He said that the valet was with him on Tuesday, the day he started to show symptoms, but that he did not remember any direct contact with him.
The president said he had been tested twice in the past few days and both tests were negative.
