The pop star, 46, battles “fear and panic” over her father’s plight and other family trauma.
Robbie, living in Los Angeles, says he had a hard time locking himself up, especially with his father, 70, who is so far away.
Robbie’s wife Ayda Field’s mom is also battling a “big disease” that had previously been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and lupus.
Robbie said, “We have a lot of family problems right now. My father has Parkinson’s disease, my mother-in-law whom I love has a very big disease. We cannot reach them. My father is thousands of miles away. ”
He added, “My mother is just one year old under the age of 80 and she is isolated and I can see things swirling in her mind and in her eyes. “
Robbie was concerned that recent problems would make him suffer from depression and from alcohol and drug problems as he has done in the past.
He said the hard times “cause fear and panic” and added, “I noticed at the start of the lockdown that I was going to be afraid.”
He continued, “But the difference between me now and the person I was … I saw it, I thought, ‘This is interesting – tomorrow will be different.’ And it was.
“Whereas before, I thought I would feel this for a decade. “
Robbie, who has four children including baby Beau, has been joined on stage several times by his father, who is also a singer.
Pete told fans that his last performance could be when his son played at the Port Vale FC stadium in June, a concert which has now been postponed.
A source close to Pete said he was in good health, adding that he had sung at all of Robbie’s last concerts, most recently in January.
