The third hour of AEW Double Or Nothing started with the women’s championship match between Nyla Rose and Hikaru Shida. This match had no tally and no disqualification.
Rose used a kendo stick immediately in the opening moments of the match. Rose was involved in most of the first infractions, including putting Shida through a casino table at the edge of the ring. The returned to the ring but the actions spilled out again in the ring moments later with Shida attacking.
Shida threw a hip at Nyla on the giant poker chips, then followed with a knee that sank from the ship and into Rose who pushed her into another chip. They returned to the ring and Shida continued the attack with several kendo sticks on the body and a suplex on the stick. Shida hit a running knee, but Rose kicked out the pin attempt.
Rose came back with a powerslam but she was too breathless to try a pin. Nyla also struck an electric bomb through a table in the corner of the ring, but Shida managed to get rid of the pin attempt. Rose then hit a driver in the Death Valley, then hit Shida with kendo sticks. Nyla then went to the top rope, but Shida got up and threw the stick at Rose, then struck a superplex from the top. Nyla barely kicked out the pin attempt. Shida hit the knee but Nyla broke the pin by lifting her shoulder. Shida brutally struck a stick with the side of Nyla’s head and she followed with a running knee in the face. Shida got the pin and won the title
