Report: Detroit Red Wings F representatives Dmytro Timashov deny being informed of KHL decision

Report on Russia this weekend suggested Detroit Red Wings attack Dmytro Timashov was on the verge of signing an agreement to move to KHL for next season, but according to The Detroit News, Timashov officials have denied that such a decision is in the works.

Russian media Sport Express said Timachov, who will become a free agent after this season, is close to a deal with Latvia’s Dinamo Riga.

The 23-year-old made his NHL debut earlier this season with the Toronto Maple Leafs and claimed waivers from the Red Wings in February. He scored four goals and nine points in 44 games between the two teams.

Timashov, a native of Ukraine, represented Sweden at the 2016 world junior championships. He was a fifth-round draft pick of the Maple Leafs in 2015 and has spent the last three seasons with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
