“There have clearly been some fairly significant differences in this relationship, but things have improved and I know William and Harry are in telephone contact,” said Nicholl at the point of sale. “They made video calls together, they had a lot of family anniversaries and I think Prince Charles is not doing well, which really forced the brothers to drop out and get back in touch. “

Harry and William’s father Charles, 71, recently fought the coronavirus, and between this fear of health and homesick Harry after his move, the royal family said it was the “right time” To reconnect, Nicoll told ET. Similarly, the tension between Markle, 38, and William’s wife, Kate Middleton, has eased.

“I think there is a sense of relief on both sides that this high-end drama is now a thing of the past,” said Nicholl. “The Sussexes are free to resume their new lives [and] the Cambridges can return to their former life without all the upheavals and drama that were clearly a big problem behind the scenes. I think Kate and William miss Harry and Meghan to some extent, but certainly they miss Harry [being] around and part of their lives. “

Nicholl told ET that the royal clan has likely met – albeit virtually – to celebrate the first anniversary of Archie, the son of Harry and Markle.

Nicholl also said that for Harry, continuing the charity work he left behind had been helpful in fighting his homesickness.

“The idea that they would just go to America and forget about these charities and organizations – especially in the case of Harry [when] they’ve been part of his life for so long – that’s absolutely not the case, ”the expert told ET. “Harry stays in touch with them regularly. He is probably missing some of the people he works with. He has been a sponsor of charities like WellChild for many years [so] he has made close friends, so yes – he misses his friends and picks up the phone for them. “

“The royal family went to great lengths not to be seen as distant or distant or unrelated,” she said. “The Queen is very aware that the role of the royal family during a national crisis like this must be seen, to be able to support her people, and she must do so via a digital platform and it ‘ is pretty incredible that at 94 she embraces that. “
