Pretty Things singer Phil May died at the age of 75, it has been confirmed.

The star suffered a fall on a bicycle and underwent emergency surgery this week during which complications “settled”, his representatives confirmed in a statement.

The singer, who was in detention with his family, died in hospital on Friday morning.

“It is with very deep sadness that the management of Pretty Things has to announce the death of the singer of the group, Phil May”, they confirmed.

“Phil May died at 7:05 a.m. on Friday, May 15 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn, Norfolk. He was 75 years old.

“He had been locked up in Norfolk with his family and, during the week, Phil had suffered a fall from his bicycle and had emergency hip surgery, after which complications had developed. “
