The prelim to UFC 249’s feature film was a total war between Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis, which ended with “Showtime” winning a 29-28 × 3 decision on “Cowboy”. It wasn’t the result Cerrone wanted, but it’s probably better to be eliminated in less than a minute like in her last fight.
As Cerrone started his slower start, in the third lap, he was doing as well as he did. If Pettis hadn’t somehow absorbed a thunderous whim late in the fight as if it was nothing, things could easily have gone the other way.
The victory moves Pettis 2-0 against Cerrone, but “Cowboy” is not crazy. In fact, the two self-proclaimed friends started to smile and hug when the bell rang. The bromance continued into the night as they took photos together behind the scenes and even met to share a beer in the hunting hotel. Because it’s just the “Cowboy” way.
Take a look at these two:
We wonder if Pettis drinks a Coors Light because Bud Light won’t pay him anything?
The victory marks a two-game skid for Pettis, who has struggled to win regularly against top-level competition in the past five years. But as this fight has shown, he still has what it takes to dig deep and win tough battles. How will he fare against more strategic opponents who are ready to drag him on the web?
