The Florida Panthers have signed a three-year entry-level contract with striker Grigori Denisenko, the team announced on Tuesday.

Denisenko, 19, was a Panthers first round pick (15th overall) in 2018. He has played 38 games with KHL’s Yaroslavl Lokomotiv this season, scoring six goals and 12 points.

At the 2020 World Junior Hockey Championships, Denisenko led the Russian team to a silver medal and led the team by scoring nine points in seven games.

“Grigori is an exciting, dynamic and highly qualified young striker who has been a leading player on the international stage and was captain of the Russia team at the World Junior Championships,” said managing director Dale Tallon via a release from ‘team.

“We are delighted with his bright future with the Panthers for years to come.”
