The show will explore how he became Joe Exotic and how he got lost in front of a character of his own creation, reports Variety.

This will mark Cage’s very first televised role, but depending on the variety of strange characters he has played on the big screen, this should not be a challenge for the Oscar winner.

The eight-episode series is produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios. It will be marketed in the coming days.

This is the second set of scripts based on the Netflix Tiger King docuseries that were released on Netflix on March 20, becoming a massive success as the lockdown took place around the world.

Kate McKinnon is attached to the first series, which was announced late last year, and will play Joe’s sworn enemy, Carole Baskin.

He had attempted to hire an FBI agent to assassinate Baskin of Big Cat Rescue. He was sentenced to 22 years on January 22, 2019 and is currently incarcerated at FMC Fort Worth.

Meanwhile, Joe insisted that he had “finished the Carole Baskin saga” and had no interest in reigniting his quarrel with the animal rights activist and just wanted to get his life back.

Speaking in prison, he said, “I’m done with the Carole Baskin saga. Now is the time to turn things around and Joe gets a free man out of jail, free from all these charges.

However, Joe does not think that celebrity will radically change his character. He added, “When I get out of here, will I be as crazy as before? It will never change … You know, it would be nice if I could really see myself being famous there – but I’ve been seeing these same four walls for a year and a half now.

The controversial tiger keeper – who once claimed to be the most prolific tiger farmer in the United States – also expressed regret for his own mistreatment of animals.

He said, “Go sit in a cage with your animals for a week … I mean when I left the zoo and I sent my chimps to the sanctuary in Florida and imagined what my chimps went through for 18 years… I ”I am ashamed of myself.
