Nearly 30 cases of COVID-19 now reported to Vision


Lambton Public Health reports five other confirmed cases of COVID-19 to Vision Nursing Home.

The health unit updated its website on Tuesday evening to report that 15 residents and 14 staff from the long-term care home tested positive.

The five new cases bring the total to 230 in the community. Four other people have recovered for a total of 167 people and the death toll remains at 19.

The health unit reports that 21% of local cases occurred in long-term care residents, while 17% were health workers.

On Tuesday, the provincial government announced the creation of an independent commission on how COVID-19 has spread to its long-term care homes.

Bluewater Health reported on Tuesday that the number of hospital patients confirmed to be infected with the virus has dropped to four, and 13 patients are believed to have it with tests pending.
