NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 Results: Brad Keselowski ahead of Jimmie Johnson for Charlotte Motor Speedway win

Brad Keselowski is the winner of the 2020 Coca-Cola 600, after claiming victory after a warning two laps from the end of the race that sent in overtime. Chase Elliott led most of the way in the stretch but chose to head towards the pit lane before the restart. Elliott finished third behind Jimmie Johnson, who was 3 / 10th of a second behind Keselowski. The Johnson’s Cup Series winless drought is now 102 races away.

Keselowski told Fox Sports that he and Team 2 had to achieve this victory after making unapproved adjustments to the car after qualifying and having to start the race at the back of the field.

“I feel like I have ruined this race several times and thought we were going to lose it today,” Keselowski told Fox Sports after his 31st career cup victory.

“I know we lost it like Chase lost it and it really stinks, and today we finally won it that way. “

For Elliott, this is a difficult second consecutive end to a Cup Series race. In the second race at Darlington last week, Kurt Busch sent Elliott as he ran second with 28 laps to go. Elliott got an angry response to Busch on the runway, but the two later put the incident to bed. This week it was something that the No. 9 team controlled at the end of the race.

“I’m just trying to make the best decisions possible,” Elliott told Fox Sports. “It’s part of it and you make decisions and live with them. “

After Keselowski, Elliott and Johnson were Ryan Blaney fourth and Kyle Busch fifth.

Alex Bowman had a very good race early on, winning stages 1 and 2, before Joey Logano won stage 3.

The Cup Series is back in the spotlight at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Alsco Uniforms 500 on May 27. This race will take place over 500 kilometers.
