Industry customizations are already available in Dynamics 365 and Power Platform products, like a patient portal. Now Microsoft wants to make sure they work together to provide the best possible experience for customers.
Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare is available to customers for a public preview with a six-month free trial, Microsoft vice presidents Tom McGuinness and Greg Moore said in a blog post on Tuesday. It was not immediately clear how the lot prices would differ from the standard charges for individual products in the lot. Microsoft will provide more details in the fall, a spokesperson for CNBC said in an email.
Azure gets more of its revenue from big business than market leader Amazon Web Services, RBC analysts led by Alex Zukin said on Sunday in a note to customers. The collections of reference products for various industries could allow a more widespread adoption by companies. Azure revenue growth slowed to 59% in the first quarter from 62% a quarter earlier, although it continues to grow faster than other parts of the company. Microsoft does not specify Azure revenue in dollars.
Google’s cloud organization also targets healthcare and other individual industries, and Salesforce offers a health cloud.
Microsoft unloaded its healthcare assets in 2012 with the formation of Caradigm, a joint venture with GE. Microsoft said last week that it was working with UnitedHealthCare to release an Azure-based application that can help companies in their efforts to get employees back to their offices.
