McDonald’s in Toronto closes after employee tests positive for coronavirus

Another McDonald’s establishment in Toronto has temporarily closed due to an employee’s COVID-19 diagnosis.

An employee at 3305 Sheppard Avenue East in Scarborough was reported to have tested positive for the virus on May 1.

The affected person last worked on April 24, from 2 p.m. to 10:35 p.m.

After learning of the confirmed case, McDonald’s immediately closed the restaurant for thorough cleaning and disinfection by third-party experts.

The restaurant will reopen after local health officials instruct it, and the company says it will work to make the reopening as safe as possible. In addition, all crew members who may have been in close contact with the employee were asked to self-quarantine until more information was available.

Anyone who was able to visit the restaurant on April 24 should follow the instructions given here by the health authorities.

In late April, McDonald’s in King and Bathurst closed due to an employee’s coronavirus diagnosis.

The location of 2 Ingram Drive in North York had previously closed for the same reason.
