The actor was filming on location for Ridley Scott’s new film, “The Last Duel,” when the coronavirus pandemic forced Damon and his family to stay in idyllic surroundings.
Damon was only praised for his “incredible” new home in an interview with the radio show “Fully Charged with Graham & Nathan” on Wednesday.
“This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen,” Damon told the two hosts, who had long campaigned for the megastar actor to speak to them. “We have this incredible configuration there, and it’s absolutely beautiful. “
Damon said his family – like everyone else – must stay within 2 kilometers (just over 1 mile) of his house during the lockout. But it suits him.
“I mean, 2 kilometers from here, there are trees and forests and woods and oceans, I can’t think of any other place where you would prefer to be within a radius of 2 kilometers,” he said. -he says. “It looks like a fairy tale here. “
The inhabitants have also taken care of their most recent resident and are particularly protective of Damon. Nathan O’Reilly, one of the radio show hosts, said he was even kicked out of a Dalkey Facebook group when he asked if anyone knew how to get Damon to appear in the show.
“I laughed so much when I heard this story,” said Damon. “It was then that I realized how awesome this place was and how protective everyone is here. “
It’s like he’s “Bourne” to be there.
A New York Times article published in April on Damon’s quarantine hideout revealed how residents didn’t want to talk about – or disturb – their famous new neighbor.
“Dalkey is surrounded by the sea,” resident Cornelius Hibernis O’Flaherty told the publication on Facebook at the time. “In these bright and sunny interlocking days with fresh air and birdsong everywhere, Matt and his family should be left alone to enjoy free time amidst the natural splendor of spring.”
