MARY-KATE Olsen has filed for divorce from her husband, Pierre Olivier Sarkozy, confirms The Sun.
The former teenage star who became a fashion designer filed for divorce on April 17, but the New York courts only accepted emergency divorce cases because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Mary-Kate said that her ex-husband forced her to leave their house.
He gave her the May 18 deadline to collect her belongings from their apartment in New York.
She also claimed that he had terminated their lease without notifying her, so Mary-Kate is requesting an emergency divorce order.
Documents obtained by TMZ allege that Mary-Kate cannot meet the deadline “due to quarantine directives” and requests an extension until May 30, accusing her and her lawyers of not responding.
The star is said to have included his divorce petition in the filing, which would demonstrate that she requested that their prenuptial agreement be enforced.
She alleged that she can “protect her property only if she has to file for divorce” and “this would trigger an automatic court decision preventing her from disposing of her property”.
The 33-year-old man married Olivier, 50, in 2015.
Olivier Sarkozy is a French banker based in the United States (although he went to university in the United Kingdom, where he studied medieval history at the University of St. Andrews).
Readers may remember his half-brother, Nicolas Sarkozy, who was French president from 2007 to 2012.
They started their romance in 2012 and the couple married on November 27, 2015 in a private residence in New York.
The divorce comes amid a Sun report that the twins are being chased by former president of their fashion company, The Row, who was once Ashley’s boyfriend.
David Schulte launched a lawsuit against the designer boy in March, five months after he quit his job.
The nature of the lawsuit is unclear due to the fact that David filed his complaint under seal.
David is also Ashley’s ex-boyfriend, but the two separated two years before being named president of the fashion empire.
The Olsen twins launched The Row in 2006, and 14 years later, they still manage to profit from their high-priced luxury goods.

These include the price of the best women’s clothing in 2012 and 2015.
It’s unclear how much The Row earns, although WWD estimated the company was making $ 50 million in sales a year in 2015.
