A married couple arrested for the death of 16-year-old Louise Smith is pictured for the first time as police investigate the murder after confirming that a body found in the woods was the missing teenager.

The teenager from the Leigh Park area was reported missing the day before yesterday, this month after her body was discovered Thursday in Havant Thicket, a dense forest.

A forensic team continues to search the homes of Shane and Chazlynn Jayne Mays, (known as Cjay), both 29, in Havant, Hampshire, where Miss Smith stayed with her cousin Ms. May after allegedly being placed there by social services, reports The Sun.

The couple were arrested on May 15 on suspicion of kidnapping a week before police raided their home on Friday – they were released on bail.

Hampshire police said formal procedures to identify the body had been completed and that the adolescent’s family had been informed – and was supported by specialist officers.

Forensic investigating officers were photographed taking objects, including rugs and clothing, from the Mays apartment in Leigh Park, Hampshire.

Mr. May’s sister Cassie Rawlinson, who lives in Portsmouth, Hampshire, told The Sun last night: “Shane welcomed her because he is nice like that. I don’t think it’s the first time she’s been there. Shane is adorable and he helps anyone. They are both nice people and always help people who need it.

Adding: “They were the ones who were looking after the girl, they were the ones who reported her disappearance and contacted her mother, they were the ones who posted her on social networks asking everyone. “

Mourners were seen placing flowers on the wooded site one mile from where Miss Smith’s body was found, one and a half miles from the Mays’ home.

Family friend Jackie Meredith laid a bouquet today and described Louise as “girly” and urged the police to get to the bottom of the investigation.

Meredith said, “She was a very pretty girl and her family was lovely too.

“She was just a typical teenager, she was a bubbly and funny girl. You could talk to her easily, she was a lovely girl and she was always friendly to people.

“She was very popular and had a lot of friends, she had a big circle. She was a little girly like the teenage girls, I really can’t express how charming she was.

“What happened is disgusting, it’s so sad. I really hope the police will know what happened to her, whatever it is.

“We have to know, we all have to know that we live here. His parents must know, of course, but we, as a community, must know.

“It’s really a shame … She had her whole life ahead of her.

I just hope the police find out what happened and who did it.

A neighbor said: “On VE day, I saw a red pickup truck outside the apartments and a girl got into it with bundles of clothes. I reported this to the police because it did not seem correct to me.

“I can’t say if it was definitely her, but she was a girl her age.”

Another local said, “Louise has been suffering from depression lately and has reportedly been bullied at school. “

Police began to search the Mays’ home last Friday.

“They were there all weekend,” said one resident.

Mandy Fernando has known the 16-year-old girl since she was a little girl.

She placed flowers at the entrance to Havant Thicket, Hampshire, where police discovered a body believed to be Louise’s.

Mandy described Louise as a pretty girl with a heart of gold. “The community is devastated, sad, shocked,” said Mandy. “I can’t speak for everyone, but when someone hears about a young person, whatever it is, it’s very sad. “

Louise’s neighbor, John Singleton, said he saw the girl on the day of her disappearance.

“She just went out for a walk, I didn’t know where she was going. It’s very sad, the result is the saddest, for a while we had hope.

It also appeared yesterday that Louise’s mother wrote on Facebook the day before the police found a body frustrated at not being able to search for her daughter.

She wrote on Wednesday evening: “I want to shout from the rooftops that I want to look everywhere. I was told not to go to the grove and Leigh Park gardens, any search must be far from it.

Police released a video surveillance image of Louise leaving a Tesco store the night before she disappeared.

An eyewitness said she went to the supermarket twice, once with another person earlier in the afternoon and then alone in the evening.

He said, “I saw Louise enter Tesco in the afternoon, then I saw her later that day, alone, buying an ice pack.

Detective Chief Superintendent Scott MacKechnie said a “dedicated” team of 100 officers “was really focused on identifying those responsible.”

The police officer urged the public to help them “reconstruct the last moments of Louise’s life” by presenting them with video surveillance or observations in Havant, Hants.

DCS MacKechnie said an autopsy had been performed but it would not reveal the cause of Louise’s death or her death.

However, he revealed that Louise had stayed in the Ringwood House building, Havant.

He asked people from Leigh Park in Havant to present video surveillance or images.

He said, “Our call is now to get help from the local community and people who frequent these areas.

“What we do know is that we posted video footage of Louise on May 7 at Tesco in Leigh Park.

“We think she was in the Somborne Drive area near Ringwood House around noon on victory day.

“Victory day was a big celebration for the country, the country was still locked so there were people who were doing garden parties and getting around in their cars.

“Has anyone seen Louise? Who was she with? She was a tall girl and we think she was wearing a black jacket.

“We especially want to focus on the afternoon of VE day and the people who may have seen it or who may have video surveillance.

He said that Louise’s mom, Rebbecca Cooper, was in mourning.

He said, “The mom is upset as you can imagine, distressed. She found out last night that it was her daughter, so you can only imagine the grief she is going through.
