LA LOCHE, Sask. – Health officials have good news for a community in northern Saskatchewan facing many cases of COVID-19 – an outbreak in the village’s long-term care facility has ended.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority announced on Saturday that it is ending an outbreak report for the establishment of La Loche Health Center, effective April 17.

The authority says the decision came after the standard 28-day period has passed with no new positive cases.

Northern medical officer Dr. Rim Zayed warns in a press release that comprehensive work is continuing as health authorities and leaders of local communities work together to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the region.
