Retail sales fell 18.1% last month, after falling 5.2% in March when the government introduced the national lock.

Almost all areas of retail sales suffered in April, according to figures released by the National Statistics Office, which found that only online shopping and liquor stores benefited. Non-store retail sales increased 18% and beer, wine and spirits sales increased 2.3%, the agency said. It has been compiling retail sales data since 1996.
