Liverpool warning after Neil Lennon’s Celtic title

Celtic boss Neil Lennon acknowledged his disappointment for his players after they were confirmed as Scottish Premier League champions by text message Monday in a disturbing potential parallel for Liverpool.

It was announced that the Hoops had been declared Scottish champions for the ninth consecutive season, having kept a 13-point lead over the Rangers with eight games to go.

Scottish football decided to freeze its table and cut the 2019/20 season, relegating Hearts to the process, who were four points from safety.

Liverpool, of course, have hopes of finishing the 2019/20 season and winning their very first Premier League title.

However, if the last 92 games of the campaign are not finished, it is increasingly likely that the Reds will win the title, given their 25 point lead over Manchester City.

Lennon, however, spoke of his disappointment with his players who had never tasted a title victory before, which draws a huge parallel to the Liverpool stars and the circumstances under which they claimed it.

“It was very surreal yesterday when the news broke,” Lennon told The Football Show. Speaking to players, they have their own WhatsApp group that is theirs and I don’t want to have anything to do with it. Speaking to them individually and to a couple collectively, they are all delighted.

“I look forward to seeing them again, in these very difficult times for society as a whole. It’s not the most important thing right now, but when we get together, we’ll plan something to celebrate what’s been a really great season.

“You can’t reproduce that kind of moment. For some guys, it will be their first championship rather than several championships, it would have been a very special moment.

“These players have lost a lot. It would have been their first championship and they missed this special opportunity to win it in front of the fans and take down the trophy. “

“You can’t reproduce this moment. I am sure we will talk to the public relations department and we will find something. I hope we can celebrate together in one form or another. “
