Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is the subject of a strong claim by his Premier League rival

Alisson Becker of Liverpool has been hailed as the best Premier League goalkeeper by his Arsenal counterpart Bernd Leno.

Alisson has had remarkable success since arriving from Rome for £ 65 million in the summer of 2018.

The Brazilian international won the man of the game by helping the Reds win the Champions League against Tottenham Hotspur last June.

He was also between the sticks in the FIFA Club World Cup triumph against Flamengo in December, and has only one clean sheet to lead the race in the Premier League Golden Glove although he missed more a third of the season due to injury and suspension.

And when asked to name the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, Leno was unequivocal.

“To me, it’s clear, it’s Alisson,” said the German. “He is good at everything and his statistics are also very good.

“He has played several important games for Liverpool and for me it is clear that he is the best goalkeeper right now. “

Speaking to Soccer AM, Leno added: “Liverpool have conceded the fewest goals of any other team in the Premier League this season, and Alisson is far behind this success. “
