It was according to Emile Heskey, who suggested that Jurgen Klopp take a look at the central defender when the transfer window opens.
Soyuncu joined Leicester City in 2018 and a year later was the club’s first central defender after Harry Maguire’s departure for Manchester United.
The Turkish international swam where many would have sunk, and enjoyed a superb campaign before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Liverpool have a solid defense of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson to name a few.
But former Liverpool striker Heskey believes the club could do with another body to consolidate the bottom line.
Heskey was recently asked to name some players who could do some work at the back of Liverpool and landed on Soyuncu and Diego Llorente of the real Sociedad.
He doesn’t know if the former would be available to sign at a fair price in the summer, given how good it was for the Foxes.
But suggested that he would be a good player for Klopp.
“Soyuncu would fit well into any club,” Heskey told Genting Bet.
“He took the role of center back in Leicester, which was a very important role, in the footsteps of Wes Morgan and Jonny Evans, and no one knew what to expect from him.
“But he took it by the neck and it really improved and gave something extra and he’s good on the ball.
“I don’t see him going anywhere, even Liverpool, because Leicester don’t need to sell unless they want to and they don’t have a ready-made player to fall for him. “
“However, if Leicester wanted to sell, Soyuncu could go to any of the best clubs. “
