Kate Garraway put on a brave face when she joined her kids for the weekly Clap for Carers applause on Thursday, while her critically ill husband Derek Draper continues to fight coronavirus in the hospital.
The presenter of Good Morning Britain, 53, took stock of the battle for this 52-year-old woman in a sincere Instagram post, revealing that even if his “heart beats everyday”, Derek is “still there” then that he stays in intensive care.
Host Kate also expressed her gratitude to her children, Darcey, 14, and Billy, 10, for “staying strong” during the difficult times.

She shared her appreciation for health professionals in the middle of COVID-19 by hitting pots with a neon green spoon, probably thinking of her long-term partner.
In the midst of the battle for the former lobbyist’s health, the news anchor always appeared cheerful as she started conversations with her children and neighbors.
The star of I’m A Celeb was dressed in a flowing white dress, a leather biker jacket and cool sneakers as she went out to support the important cause, which is relatively close to home.
Kate’s mini-me stood next to her as she clapped to support the NHS, while young Billy joined his loved ones on a brick fence.
The Clap For Carers campaign, which started online, was organized because “during these unprecedented times, they should know that we are grateful,” said the organizers.

For the ninth week in a row, National Health Service workers have received the nation’s applause and applause.
Last month, the event, organized by the Clap For Our Carers campaign, was expanded to include all key workers, such as supermarket staff, emergency workers and teachers who continue to work.
Kate’s husband Derek was hospitalized on March 30 and appears to be in critical insensitive condition as he remains in an intensive care unit.
Her GMB colleague Piers Morgan said Kate had “immense hope” when she heard stories from coronavirus survivors.
The main presenter, 55, spoke about his close friend after hearing a woman named Jo Tillbrook who survived the coronavirus after a long hospital stay.
He said: “One of my colleagues, Kate Garraway, her husband has been seriously ill for a long time.
“And those kinds of stories, I must say, think of giving Kate immense hope when she hears and sees them.
Jo’s husband Clive had been asked to “prepare for the worst” by the doctors, who feared that Jo wouldn’t be able to recover – but she recovered completely.
