The Italian government authorized the teams to resume training after a number of Serie A parties announced their intention to meet on Monday.
Sassuolo was the first high level club to confirm a return to training before Bologna, Parma and Rome followed suit.
The government initially ruled that athletes in team sports were different from those involved in individual disciplines, such as tennis or athletics, even though their training exercises were identical.
This meant that the public could go running in local parks starting Monday next week, but team sports were banned until May 18.
There is no doubt that Ronaldo will be delighted to work with his teammates when he can eventually return.
The 35-year-old forward has been staying in his hometown of Madeira with his family since March 9
Ronaldo spent a few days with his nine-year-old son Cristiano Jr before returning to Italy
But with some regional assemblies deciding to reopen all sports facilities from Monday rather than waiting until May 18, the government has admitted there is no point in limiting certain areas while others have the go-ahead.
Serie A clubs and the Italian players’ association have successfully argued that it is safer to train inside a training ground where social distancing can be guaranteed rather than in a local park .
Although despite the planned return to training, there is no guarantee that the Serie A season will really start again despite the 20 clubs voting that they wish to complete the 2019-20 campaign.
Once Ronaldo returns to Italy, he will have to stay isolated for another 14 days.
All players staying in Italy will be able to resume training immediately while those traveling like Ronaldo will have to wait another two weeks after returning to Italy before they can participate.
