Jack Grealish sends a four-word message as Aston Villa resumes training

Aston Villa is back in training at Bodmyoor Heath – and Jack Grealish is “buzzing to be back”.

Grealish and his teammates are participating in carefully planned sessions for the first time since the coronavirus was stopped.

Premier League clubs voted on Monday to resume training as part of a tightly controlled schedule with regularly tested players and staff.

Villa has set up a coronavirus testing facility in the parking lot as they prepare for a return to action as part of the proposed restart of the project.

Back Matt Targett said it was “weird” to be back on the grass in small groups.

“It was good to be back with some of the boys,” he told BBC 5 Live. “It was strange to train in small groups. I was with Tyrone Mings, Douglas Luiz and Pepe Reina today.

“You only do individual position stuff. There is not much you can do. You have to keep moving and try to get back into shape. “

“It is very different. We have received our individual programs. It was so weird to have a ball at your feet. “

Grealish knows he will have a vital role to play in Villa’s fight to stay in the elite when games resume.

He went to Twitter to express his joy at being tested again, saying that he “buzzes at being back” while posting footage of the session.

Targett added: “The training was delayed a bit as we were waiting to get the results of our tests we did on Sunday. Once we got all the clarification, we went out in small groups on different terrains.

“Life has been so different without football. It was difficult. I hope we can get back to it sooner than later. “

“We made a lot of video calls. The gaffer put us in small groups and we analyzed the games, what we did well and see where we went wrong. “

“Hopefully when we get back on the road we can fix some things. “
