Katy Perry spoke frankly about her mental health issues and depression following her album flop in 2017.

The 35-year-old woman revealed this week on the Daily Telegraph’s JMO podcast that she has had a “health and wellness journey” in recent years, so she doesn’t have to depend on medication on order.

“I am so thankful that I am not a drug addict,” she told host Jonathon Moran.

“I went on a trip to adopt good tools, so I did not have to delve so far into the pharmaceutical industry,” she said.

Katy explained that some of the “tools” she uses to manage her mental health include “mediation” and “pediatric trauma therapy”.

Singer Roar added that she was “fully supported” by her fiancé Orlando Bloom.

“There have been some pretty dark days and I think it was pretty obvious on my last record and what I was going through publicly,” she added.

Katy released her fourth solo album, Witness, in June 2017, which was then a surprise flop.

Reflecting on this particularly difficult period between 2017 and 2018, Katy admitted that she had trouble getting out of bed.

She told Vogue India in January: “In the past, I had managed to overcome it, but this time something happened that made me fall too many flights of stairs. I really had to take a mental health trip. ”

Katy then discussed the “spiritual journey” she continued with her fiancé, Orlando, explaining that they bring out the best in each other by drawing the “poison”.

“Orlando is like a sage,” she said. “When we first met, he said we would get the poison out of each other, and we really do. It’s exhausting, but we really hold each other accountable.

Meanwhile, Katy and Orlando are expecting their first child together, a girl, later this year.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor also shares his nine-year-old son Flynn with former wife Miranda Kerr.
