The astrological energy increases with the approach of Mercury entering Gemini on May 11 and staying there until May 28. Although this transit is shorter given the rapid nature of Mercury, it will be incredibly intense as we will experience several planetary retrogrades at this time, including Venus retrograde in Gemini.
In astrology, Mercury is the planet that governs our communications and thought processes which, depending on the zodiac sign it crosses, can affect us in different ways. It’s not just how we think, but what we focus on that changes.
What can we expect from Mercury in Gemini?
As we finish Mercury in Taurus, we have had time to consider the real, the practical and the foundations that we want to build during this year. It was a moment we needed to help us focus on the areas of our lives that were focused on our romantic relationships, life-course decisions, and all the changes we felt called to make.
But now that we have it, we need to broaden our thinking. We must act and offer the possibility of movement.
Nothing in life that really matters remains closed during this time, while we all go through different degrees of healing, we are still living. We always explore love, we always leave relationships, get divorced and take risks with new love.
This means that while many of us feel that life has still not returned to a normal rhythm, it does not mean that we are actually on a break at all, as life goes on.
Mercury in Gemini is a matter of activity and expansion. Now is the time to come up with ideas, even if they can be fleeting and evolve quickly. It’s a time of opportunity and not letting current reality distract you from what may come up in the future.
Gemini is an aerial sign, and is much more active and innovative than Taurus, an earthly sign. Represented by the sign of twins, Gemini means the different options and choices we have in life, even during times when it seems that this is not the case.
Lately, the energy we have suffered is that of constriction, which is opposed to the expansion of Gemini. Too often, as the planets dance through this sign, we try to make sense of the possibilities instead of just entertaining them for what they are: options, choices and times.
Just because we have an idea doesn’t mean we have to act on it; just because an option presents itself doesn’t mean we should grab it.
At the end of May, Mercury will enter cancer and we will have many opportunities to think about how it all feels, what it all means and how it will affect us.
But the time has come to present ourselves as a witness to our own thoughts.
Too often in life, we judge our thoughts before we even give them time to show us what they are meant for. We become frightened or hesitant to entertain thoughts that deviate from life plans or that seem too difficult, essentially preventing us from grasping the possibilities that life will reveal to us when we least expect it.
The reality is that if this pandemic has proven anything, it is that we cannot predict what will happen in life.
We cannot really plan every moment or every challenge, and sometimes it is these moments that we cannot plan to really change our whole life. This is why, even though we are going through such a difficult period collectively, we are really on the verge of change.
During this transit of Mercury, the planets Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto are all retrograde, encouraging us not only to consider the possibilities, but also to understand that it is not yet time to move forward.
The retrograde Venus, especially since it is in Gemini, will be a powerful influence during this transit. Because while our hearts will explore options, life paths and different romantic possibilities, so will our minds.
In many ways, it’s a chance to have your head and your heart on the same page. It’s a time when maybe we can finally figure out what it all means, or maybe even just where to go from here.
As long as we can entertain thoughts without judging them and without necessarily acting immediately, we will be better able to make the most of this transit.
What we to do However, you have to consider that with this number of retrograde planets right now, everything is moving.
This means that our love life, our sense of future and abundance, the foundations and structures of our life will all evolve in the coming months, while Pluto wakes us up to the truth instead of the illusions that we have been living under.
The reality is that no matter how bright or precise an idea is right now, none of us will have the full story yet. There are still pieces of the puzzle that need to come together, and there are still steps to take until we have a better understanding of what we need to do to get to where we want to be.
And while that does not mean that we will not seize or seize the opportunities as they arise, testing the waters of the divine calendar and destiny, we do not need to rush anything.
Everything is going to happen to you, and although we are in an age of opportunity, the best thing we can do is to observe our thoughts and observe the actions of others, knowing that even if we are certain of our whole lives are about to change, that doesn’t mean it has to happen right now.
