Hollywood actor Hagen Mills died in a “suicide attempt” in his native Kentucky.
The 29-year-old actor who appeared in the hit series FX Baskets is believed to have attempted to kill former partner Erica Price, 34, in a residence in Mayfield on Tuesday evening.
Price was allegedly shot by Mills in the arm and chest, but was able to survive and call the police. Mills then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
According to The West Kentucky Star, Price is the mother of Milla’s four-year-old daughter Mila.
The girl was inside the house at the time, as was Price’s mother. Neither was injured in the incident.
Investigators say Mills held the pair inside the house until Price returned. When she arrived at the residence at 5:45 p.m., he shot her several times. She was taken to hospital in stable condition after contacting the police.
Records from Graves County Jail in Kentucky show Mills has a long rap sheet.
On March 30 of this year, he was arrested and charged with first degree rape and sodomy, as well as the abduction and possession of methamphetamine.
He was released from prison on Monday – a day before his death.
According to Mills’ mother, he had homes in Hollywood and Kentucky.
