“Hitting Children After Coronavirus” Syndrome | New


Sixty-four children were rushed to New York hospital for a disease that may be linked to the coronavirus, officials said in a warning to doctors to immediately report similar cases.

The children had stomach pain or fever and symptoms of an inflammatory syndrome. Most tested positive for Covid-19 or antibodies that suggested they had recovered from the virus.

Health officials in New York City reported that 15 children, ages 2 to 15, had been treated at the hospital with the same “pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome” in the two weeks leading up to May 1. Five were to be broken down. All would have responded well to treatment, but officials said a prompt referral of these cases was essential.
