Gold bars and marijuana found in stolen vehicle at Blue Water Pass

More than five pounds of gold bars, as well as marijuana and a stolen vehicle, were seized by border police after a poor turn at the border crossing of the Blue Water Bridge.

The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said Thursday that a driver had gone wrong in Port Huron and ended up on the Blue Water Bridge bound for Canada. The driver turned around on the bridge and attempted to return to the United States, but a check by a CBP officer revealed that the vehicle was stolen.

The driver, a woman from Eaton County, Michigan, was arrested without incident. After searching the vehicles, border police seized gold bars weighing more than five pounds and 30 grams of marijuana. The value of the items seized has not been released.

The woman has since been transferred to Michigan State Police custody, along with the gold, marijuana and the stolen vehicle.
