Germany and France want to create stronger European champions: Merkel

BERLIN (Reuters) – France and Germany support reform of EU merger and competition rules so bloc can create stronger European champions after coronavirus crisis, Chancellor said on Monday Angela Merkel.

Speaking to journalists to present a Franco-German proposal for a European stimulus fund worth 500 billion euros, Merkel said that, overall, EU member states and the Block executives would mobilize a combined sum of 3 trillion euros to cushion the economic impact of the pandemic coronavirus.
