France slightly revises COVID-19 toll at 28022

PARIS (Reuters) – France has revised the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection down from 217 or 0.8% to 28,022, the health ministry said on Tuesday in a statement on its website.

Hospital deaths increased by 125 or 0.7% to 17,714, but the number of victims in nursing homes was revised down from 342 or 3.2% to 10,308, as the ministry said adjusted data from regional health centers, said a ministry official.

The number of confirmed cases increased from 524 to 143,427, an increase of 0.4%, slightly higher than the average increase of 0.3% per day seen since the end of isolation on May 11. The number of cases increased by 483 on Monday.
