France reports more than 28,500 coronavirus deaths

PARIS (Reuters) – The cumulative death toll from coronavirus infection in France rose 73 or 0.3% to 28,530 Tuesday, a rate of increase similar to the previous day, although health officials have resumed taking into account data from retirement homes after an interruption of four days.

In a statement, the Department of Health said the number of deaths was up from 83 in hospitals to 18,195. But the number of deaths in retirement homes was revised to 10,335, 10 less than the last time it was published.
