Manchester United players trained at Carrington first league clubs are ready to vote unanimously for a return to full-contact training.

The players trained in small groups this week and followed the social distancing guidelines. The 20 clubs voted on Wednesday to implement the second stage of the restart plan, with the league aiming to restart the season next month.

United have worked in groups of four players and a coach, but will now be allowed to train in groups and engage in tackles with their teammates.

The United players were released on Wednesday, but the club shared a second video of Tuesday’s sessions one day after fans were treated to images of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba training together for the first time.

Odion Ighalo Trains

Despite uncertainty about his future, Odion Ighalo showed up to train with his teammates. The Nigerian has been successful since arriving on loan in the January transfer window, but his contract expires on Sunday.

Ighalo has appealed to Shanghai Shenhua to allow him to end the season at United before returning to China. MEN Sport understands that confidence is growing in the Ighalo camp so that an extension of its loan agreement can be agreed.

United supporters saw Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in action for the first time on Tuesday, working out with Angel Gomes and Nemanja Matic.

The two stars could appear in the diamond formation favored by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the recent resurgence of United. Fernandes and Pogba participated in passing and shooting drills featuring Gomes and Matic, swapping passes before shooting.

Pogba looked sharp on penalties and should return to action if the league resumes next month.

Solskjaer’s philosophy should continue

Images of the formation featured United defenders working on their rear distribution. Solskjaer is eager to see his defenders working the ball out of defense and he has identified Harry Maguire as the perfect signature to implement his philosophy this summer.

“I thought we were excellent today, counter-attacking football, quickly passing by, it’s Man United and we’re trying to get back to it,” he said after the win over Chelsea in October.

The United Coaches can be seen breaking through the defenders in short sharp passes outside the defense and using Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw in the back positions. Shaw was one of the club’s best players before the postponement of the season, while Dalot hopes to put in his time extension request as he challenges Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a starting spot.

A new partner for Harry Maguire

United fans will be thrilled to see Axel Tuanzebe back on the training ground after an injury-ravaged campaign.

Tuanzebe returned to United last summer after an 18-month loan period to Aston Villa and received the captain’s armband for the Carabao Cup tie against Rochdale in September. However, a serious hamstring problem sidelined him indefinitely as he mounted a serious challenge to Victor Lindelof’s role on the team.

The 22-year-old is back in shape and has been seen doing exercises alongside Maguire in the center of defense, hinting at a possible future partnership.

United midfielders learn from one of the biggest

Although the current situation is not ideal, United midfielders could benefit from working in small groups with specialized coaching from one of the club’s large midfielders – Michael Carrick. The former United star led the crossing exercises with the participation of Fernandes, Pogba, Matic and Gomes.

The smaller configuration will allow Carrick to offer new innovative sessions that respect strict training protocols. He knows what keeps players focused and motivated during this difficult time.

His experience could also be essential in creating a midfielder made up of both Fernandes and Pogba when the match days finally come back.
