Aston Villa is linked to Dijon winger Mounir Chouiar.

The 21-year-old, who joined Dijon from Lens last year, had a brilliant Ligue 1 campaign, attracting the attention of several European clubs.

According to information published in the French press, Villa is one of its contenders before the next transfer window.

But Dijon sports director Peguy Luyindula says he has no plans to sell Chouiar when trade resumes.

Luyindula told L’Euqipe (via Sport Witness): “There are no discussions [regarding a sale]. I appreciate it very much. Everyone wants to keep it.

“The question of an exit was not asked. It’s gratifying, it means he had a good season. This is just the beginning. Next year will be a very, very good season. “

French under-21 international Chouiar, who made 18 starts for Dijon this quarter scoring four times, is also said to be the target of Serie A teams Fiorentina and Parma.

Last summer, Villa signed three broad deals with permanent players – Trezeguet, Jota and Anwar El Ghazi and all of them have had inconsistent campaigns.
