Eibar players say they fear ‘terrible consequences’ of La Liga recovery | Soccer

Eibar became the first La Liga team to publicly voice concerns over the planned return to training and called for “responsibility” by league officials.

Clubs in the top two Spanish divisions are slated to begin individual training this week after testing for Covid-19 with closed games scheduled for June. But in a strongly formulated joint declaration, the Basque club expressed doubts about the plan.

“We are worried about starting an activity in which we will not be able to complete the first recommendation of all the experts which is the physical distance”, declared the players in a press release delivered to radio Cadena Ser.
