Drake’s Dark Lane Demo Tapes starts at # 2, ending his long # 1 streak

Last year Drake won his ninth consecutive No. 1 album with Care package, a compilation of songs originally released between 2010 and 2016. Now with the release of his most recent project Dark Lane Demonstration Cassettes, Drake’s streak # 1 has ended. According to Billboard, the new mixtape debuted at No. 2, while Kenny Chesney’s latest album Here and now reached first place.

Drake’s nine consecutive LP albums # 1 have all occurred in 10 years, starting with its release in 2010 Thank me later. When Drake’s album in 2018 Scorpio debuted at # 1, it marked the biggest debut week of any album in 2018, with 732,000 album units equivalent. He also officially linked Drake to Kanye West, Eminem and the Beatles for the longest streak of No. 1 records.
