Matthew Stafford split his time between California and Georgia this offseason, and now the Detroit Lions quarterback is selling his Bloomfield Township home.
The asking price: $ 6.5 million.
Stafford declined to comment on the Lions, but rumors that the quarterback house is up for sale have been around for months, as before the rumor that he was on the trading block – and the rumor wanted a swap – in February.
Stafford said on a videoconference Thursday that he had taken these business rumors, but he refused to share his conversations with Lions coach Matt Patricia or general manager Bob Quinn about his future or their feelings about respect to Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

The Lions, who had the third draft pick, spent time in the pre-scouting process to study Tagovailoa, who placed fifth overall in the Miami Dolphins.
“I really don’t pay much attention to (the commercial rumors),” said Stafford. “I pay less attention to them than my wife. But it’s something that doesn’t bother me. Look, I’m here, I want to be here. I love being a Detroit Lion, I love leading this team. all this stuff is just there to be there. It’s a month of slow news at this point and I’m just happy to be where I am and ready to face this offseason as it is and try to make the most of the season which I l ‘hope, will happen. ”
Stafford, 32, after two consecutive seasons with back injuries, is entering his 12th season in the NFL. He is still three years on his current contract and said Thursday he is looking forward to playing again after missing eight games last season.
He and his wife Kelly bought a home in Newport Coast, California last year, and also own a home in Atlanta. The couple, already parents of three girls under the age of 4, are expecting their four children later this summer.
According to the real estate list, Staffordshire Bloomfield Township sits on 1.27 acres of lakefront property and includes an indoor half-court basketball court on which the Detroit Pistons played at the Pontiac Silverdome , five fireplaces, a sauna, a wine cellar, a glass elevator with service on three levels and the largest infinity pool in the state.
The Staffords bought the five-bedroom home in 2013 and made a major renovation and addition in 2016.
The 12,295 square foot home, including its finished lower level, officially hit the market on Thursday.
