Dakota Johnson revealed her family’s extreme love for cats on Friday at a home edition of the Graham Norton Show.

The 30-year-old Suspiria star revealed that her grandmother Tippi Hedren currently keeps “13 or 14 lions and tigers” at home, even though she once had dozens of felines roaming free in her home.

Johnson’s grandmother and mother Melanie Griffith, 62, appeared with many of their cats in the film Roar, which suffered injuries in 1981.

Johnson began the segment by confirming that his grandmother, who rose to fame in The Birds of Alfred Hitchcock (1963) and Marnie (1964) before largely abandoning Hollywood, was 90 years old and continued to move, which that piqued Norton’s interest in her big cats.

“She has 13 or 14 lions and tigers,” said Johnson. “There used to be 60 cats, but now there are only a few. “

Norton shared some of the great photos taken of Hedren during the days when the cats roamed free in his house and the grounds, including a famous photo of a huge tiger jumping in his kitchen by the window while she was calling .

“That’s what it is, it’s a tiger that jumps out of your kitchen window,” he said.

“That’s what it is,” added Johnson with his expressionless expression, which made the host laugh.

Norton also shared a famous photo of his mother Melanie Griffith as a teenager when she jumped into her pool just when a male lion grabbed her leg to bite her.

“Oh yes, with the leg and the mouth,” said Johnson, who was clearly aware. “She hasn’t lost her leg,” she joked.
