Crazy ideas to bring back the sport could say more about cities than leagues

According to a proposal package sent to N.B.A. and the W.N.B.A., which the New York Times reviewed, MGM envisions a fully quarantined campus, essentially a complete block of the Las Vegas Strip, where players would live and play according to the schedule desired by the leagues. Athletes would be joined by their families, league and audiovisual media employees, and the staff and vendors needed to serve them, with access to lounges, spas, restaurants and all of the other benefits offered by the stations. (yes, even games of chance).
