COVID-19: Alberta Reports 39 New Cases, One Additional Death

On Friday, the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, announced that she would cut down on her daily COVID-19 updates.

This week, it will update Tuesday and Thursday. The following week, it should have updates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The province will continue to send out a status report on the virus every day, whether or not Hinshaw has the floor.

“The pandemic is far from over. However, given the reduction in the overall number of cases and the fact that we have started to resume operations as part of Phase 1 of Alberta’s recovery strategy, I have recommended reducing the frequency of my availability, “said Hinshaw on Friday.

In Canada, there are 77,295 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 5,805 deaths, according to the latest figures from the Government of Canada. Worldwide, there are 4,628,903 confirmed cases and 312,009 deaths, according to the World Health Organization.
