A man pleaded guilty to assault after spitting blood on the police while screaming at the coronavirus.
Splashes of blood and sputum entered a policeman’s mouth while another was also hit in the face when four policemen went to arrest Samuel Konneh on March 26, learned the Manchester Crown Court.
Konneh, 38, pleaded guilty to four counts of assault against an emergency worker and one count of criminal harassment during a brief hearing on Skype this morning.
He was arrested after police were called to Withington, south of Manchester, for complaints that Konneh had tracked down a woman who refused his advances.
When the police broke down a door, they punched Konneh in the mouth, causing him to bleed. He then spat on the officers.
He will be sentenced on June 29, following the preparation of a psychiatric report and a pre-sentence report.
