Coronavirus New York: NYC & Company Forms Coalition With Leading Companies And Entertainment Leaders To Bring Tourism To The City After COVID-19


NEW YORK CITY (WABC) – NYC & Company are forming a coalition to figure out how to bring tourists back to New York after the coronavirus pandemic is over. The company, which is the city’s official tourism marketing organization, announced Tuesday that leaders of hotels, restaurants, sports organizations and arts institutions have formed a coalition to oversee the marketing and promotion of New York City with guidelines on social distancing. .

“Together, when the time is right, we will help our businesses reopen and inspire New Yorkers and visitors to explore and interact securely with the five boroughs once again,” said the CEO and president. NYC & Company, Fred Dixon.

The coalition will be made up of prominent business and entertainment leaders from the city, including: Ellen Flutter of the Natural History Museum, Thelma Golden of the Studio Museum of Harlem, Lin-Manuel Miranda of Broadway, Danny Meyer of Shake Shack and Peter Ward from Hotel Union.

The city’s tourism industry provides 400,000 jobs and generates nearly $ 70 billion in economic activity.
