Luyindama, last contract problem included

Aston Villa is linked to Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama before the next transfer window.

The central defender recently returned from a long-term layoff, which ruined his chances of advancing to the Premier League in January.

Having impressed for Galatasaray in the first half of the season, it was claimed that the New Years Villa had collected a package of around £ 10 million to retrieve it.

But Luyindama fell with a serious injury while playing for DR Congo against The Gambia in November, suffering from ligament injuries to the knee.

Rangers boss sends warning to Morelos

Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson has warned that Alfredo Morelos will not be sold “at a low price” despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Aston Villa was strongly linked to a decision by the Colombian, who had scored 29 goals in just 46 games before the suspension of football in mid-March.

It has been suggested that teams will be forced to accept lower offers for their most valuable assets, with the COVID-19 epidemic affecting both the next transfer window and football finances in general.

This had led to reports that Villa could recover Morelos for as little as £ 15 million, but Wilson criticized the suggestions, saying they would not accept a discount deal.

Chester applies for a contract

James Chester has revealed that he has yet to discuss his contract status with Aston Villa – but says most players will gladly enter automatic extensions for the remainder of the delayed season.

Chester’s contract at Villa Park is scheduled to end in June, the 31-year-old signed a four-year deal when he joined West Bromwich Albion in 2016.

Player offers could be extended until the end of the season due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has been stopping English football since early March.
